2023 ASSOCIATION ELECTION RESULTS

The Montage at Mission Hills Homeowners Association held its annual meeting and election of the Board of Directors on March 18, 2023, beginning at 9:30 A.M.  The meeting has held virtually via Zoom. For all those who did not attend the meeting, a copy of the agenda and reports can be found on the 2023 election page on the Montage Website. Draft minutes of the meeting will be available on the Montage website within 30 days.

The Inspector of Elections was Scott Reese, assisted by Sherry Reese and John Geary.  The votes were counted at 69701 Van Gogh Road, Cathedral City. Public viewing of the vote count was provided, but no members or nominees attended.  The ballot counting was streamed live on Zoom during the meeting.  The results of the balloting were reported at the conclusion of the meeting.  The scans of the ballots and outside envelopes are available for inspection for one year by contacting the Inspector of Elections.

The Association has 128 units.  All units were eligible to vote at the time of the election. Therefore, the number of units required by the Montage CC&Rs to establish a Quorum is 32 or 25% of the total units.

Eighty-eight (88) ballots were received.  Two ballots were received after the close of the polls at approximately 9:45a on March 18 and disqualified without opening. Four ballots were received without signatures on the outside envelope and were disqualified without opening. Eighty-two ballots were received and approved; therefore, a quorum was established to conduct the meeting and complete the election.  Upon opening and inspection, one ballot was disqualified for not being submitted in the proper ballot envelope, and one ballot was disqualified for incorrectly being completed.  A total of 80 ballots were counted. This is down ten ballots from 2022.  Three positions on the Board of Directors were being filled. The results of the voting were as follows:

Board of Directors Election

Alan Horwitz – 26 Votes                      Not Elected

Lesley (Sue) Johnson – 57 Votes       Elected

Tony Michaelis – 69 Votes                  Elected

IRS Ruling 70-604 Resolution
